FLASH NEWS: 31/03/09: As decided the leaders of joint forum of Pune met with the Hon Member of Parliament Shri. Suresh Kalmadi, who is also sitting MP from Pune and candidate of congress party for lok sabha elections. The leaders along with the delegation met him at his residence “Kalmadi House” at 9.00 am and deliberated

• The issue of damages to BSNL cables by PMC/PCMC authorities.
• No permissions for laying of new cables and for rectifying the faults.
• Heavy charges levied by PMC/PCMC authorities for permissions.
• Huge royalty charges for the existing cables laid during the DOT times.
• BSNL, Pune has lost more that 2 lakh connections during last 2 years due to cable damages.
• Non cooperation to the BSNL authorities to rectify the faults due to damages by development works of PMC/PCMC.

The Hon. Member assured to the delegation that the matter will be looked into and if required the necessary orders will be bought from the state government. As the PMC commissioner was out of country, could not be contacted. But he assured to give relief to the BSNL.  He thanked the delegation for highlighting the issue, extending the support to him and reminded that BSNL was the leading sponsoring the recent commonwealth games held in Pune.

Also, Hon. Shri. Abhay Chajjed, PMC member and Pune district congress (I) President, Shri. Sudhir Kale, Ex-PMC member and Shri. Deepak Mankar, PMC member were also present during the meeting.

Bhange CAO and Mrs. Muglikar, AO, for their untiring efforts in releasing the arrears payments before 31march of 704 executives. We also asked them to convey our thanks to all their team members who untiringly made efforts to make the payments, Inspite of all difficulties.

New: 30/03/09: Meeting with Hon. Shri. Suresh Kalmadi, Member of Parliament: the leaders of joint forum along with a delegation of over 200 members are meeting tomorrow at 8 am to highlight the issue of damages of BSNL cables by PMC/PCMC. Though the notice is very short, it is appealed to all the comrades to gather at Kalmadi house, Karve Road, at 8 am sharp. This effort is made in order to highlight the issue of cable damages with the Hon. M P and the memorandum will be submitted.

30/03/09: Arrears payment released: After a hectic hard work by the accounts section the arrears payments were released today and credited to our bank accounts.

28/03/2008: JAGO….EXECUTIVES JAGO……: Today the DS met with the PGM, Pune, and discussed about the growth of free land line connections. The PGM is very much unhappy on the issue and conveyed his strong displeasure as only 5000 connections have been achieved out of 83000 eligible connections. It seems that the field staff is still not convinced about providing the rent free connections. We explained the various problems faced by the field staff.

We appeal to all our comrades to send their feedback about the problems faced by them in the field to the DS through the link “Give feedback to DS” or on email address- wankhedevivek@yahoo.co.in so that the issues can be bought to the notice of the PGM. Also see that maximum connections are provided in these 3 days. Now it is time to say Jago….executives ….jago, as we have all our demands settled with 30% hike in salary and it is the time to deliver. Just think of the MTNL comrades who have been offered of only 5% hike in salary. If not, the days will be not too far to collapse. We will have no excuses, if the things are not delivered now. So it is my sincere appeal to all our executives’ community to act and deliver……….JAGO>>>>>

27/03/09: Congratulations to our Nasik comrade for their untiring efforts in organising the mela today (i.e Gudi Padwa) for the growth of the company. It is reported that huge crowd is visiting the mela to find out the services they needed. Inspite of holiday our spirited comrades are convincing the customers about the plans and services offered.

26/03/09: Good achievement: Maharashtra Circle had crossed 3lakhs Broadband connection and 3.5 million GSM connections were declared today in a press conference @ conference hall, Sanchar Bhavan,Pune, by Hon. Shri. V.K.Mahendra, PGMT, Pune. Speaking on the occasion, he proudly said that Pune SSA has given the maximum contribution of 90,000 BB connections and thanked all the customers and staff for their continuous support on achievement of this mile stone. The DS along with office bear of other association were also present on the occasion. The following were the announcements made in the Press conference-

We take this opportunity to congratulate all our staff who had made strong efforts in the achievement.

It is suggested that to encourage the staff one of the linestaff/JTO/SDE, who have provided maximum BB connection should be felicited on such occasions. Such moves will definitely help to motivate the staff.

Due to non availability of HRMS server, the data entry could not be made, hence the pay arrears payments will be made on Saturday.

Important: Pay fixation anomalies: It is seen that all those executives who have their increment date in the month of Jan are drawing lesser salary than their juniors. The case of Com. Mahanand Gaikwad, JTO (Marketing), has been bought to the notice of DS. We are pursuing the case with the Circle and CHQ. All the comrades, whose increment month is January, are appealed to send the representation immediately to the DS, for further action and follow up.

25/03/09: Loknayalaya recovered over Rs.37 lakh dues: The Loknayalaya was held on 23/03/09 has settled 418 cases which has recovered the amount of Seventeen lakh one thousand rupees. Also about 500 cases were settled in out of court settlement which resulted in recovery of more than  RS.20 lakh, as informed by Shri. Rajshekhar, CAO(Central). The Loknayalaya was organised for the pending cases of Central area, East area and mobile. Also the broadband cases were settled. we appreciate the efforts of Shri. Rajshekhar, CAO(Central), Shri. Girase, CAO(East), Shri.Warukar, CAO(Mobile) and all Accounts officers and employees who participated in the event.

We are sure that such events will definitely earn goodwill for BSNL and help in more recovery of long pending dues.                           

24/03/09: CHQ NEWS: We congratulate our beloved GS Com. G.L.Jogi on being unanimously elected as convenor for the newly formed FORUM IN DEFENCE OF CPSU’s constituting of Oil, Power, Telecom, Coal, Steel, Defence, FCI, Banking sector etc in a meeting held at New Delhi on 17/03/09.

23/03/09: The Circle Office has extended the scheme of free telephones from 28^th March 09 to 30^th April 09. (Click for letter)

CHQ NEWS: The DPC OF JTO (T) to SDE(T) is under full swing. Com. Jogi, GS, is persuading the DPC work. It is expected that the orders will be issued by mid of April 09. Some Executives of 1993 may be covered in this DPC. Progress of SDE (T) to DE (T) DPC is slow as the CR’s from all the circles are not received.

21/03/09: Opening of New RSU at RTTC Pune: In a glittering ceremony the CGMT, MH Circle, Shri. Chandra Prakash inaugurated the New RSU at RTTC, Pune. Shri. V.K. Mahendra, PGMT, Pune, GM’s, DGM’s and the office bearers of the associations were present. This exchange will cover most of the non feasible areas in and around RTTC, said PGM, Pune and once again reminded to complete the targets by March 09. 

20/03/09: Visit of GCMT to Pune: Shri Chandra Prakash, CGM, MH Circle is visiting to Pune tomorrow for the inauguration of New RSU at RTTC, Pune. This is another milestone achieved by our Chinchwad comrades, as you may be aware that we have raised the issue of cable damages 2 years back with CMD. It was then decided to open RSU at different locations to overcome the problem.       

19/03/09: Empanelment of Hospitals in rural and urban areas: The committee on Hospital empanelment under the chairmanship of Shri. Yeshwant Singh, GM (finance), met today and decided to empanel the hospitals in rural and urban areas. The proposal of Lokmanya Hospital is already forwarded to circle office and approval expected soon. Also it was decided to empanel Aditya Birla Hospital.

The rural hospitals are 1. Chintamani Hospital, Saswad 2. Pawana Hospital, Somatne Phata, Maval 3. Sonone Hospital ,Daund 4. Deokate Hospital, Baramati 5. Nachiket Hospital, Bhor 6. Akshay Medical Foundation,Lonavala 7. Ashiwn Hospital, Nira 8. Shushrut Hospital, Rajgurunagar 9. Siddhakala Hospital, Manchar.

It was also agreed to allow reimbursing the medical bills for the treatment in Ruby Hall and Jahangir Hospital only after the employee makes the cash payments for the treatment and applies for the claim. The claims will be settled as per CGHS – 2007 rates only. This will give relief to all those employees who wish to take treatment from these hospitals. No advances will be allowed. The notification will be issued soon. 

18/03/09: Withdrawal of zero dialing facility of Service landline& WLL connections: The DGM IP issued the orders of withdrawal of zero dialing facility on landline and WLL interpreting wrongly the circle office guidelines which clearly states to withdraw STD facility of Service WLL connection only. The DS spoke to the DGM IP and requested to review the orders immediately. (Click for letter)

Pay Arrears payment: The DS spoke to Shri. Bhange, CAO, about the payment of arrears. He informed that the work of pay arrears is in full swing, fixation of all 740 executives has been done and the arrears payments will be released in the last week of March. We appreciate his positive feedback and good gesture.    

DEVELOPMENT & TARGETS ONLY AGENDA

17/03/09 : Appeal to all executives: The leaders of joint forum met with PGM Shri. V.K. Mahendra and discussed the issue of development and free connections. The PGM expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the progress of the provision of free land line connections and said that the east and central areas are very much lagging in issuing the work orders. We hereby appeal to all our executives to take initiative and issue all the pending work orders of eligible customers. He also appraised the joint forum leaders with the progress of other SSA’s who had already provided upto 20% of the eligible free connections whereas Pune has only provided only 1.5% of them. The leaders promised to complete the targets upto 31st March 09. So comrades please gear up to complete the targets. In case of difficulties regarding availability of stores you may contact the respective DGM’s of your area. You may send your feedbacks to the DS, if the issues are not resolved. 

17/03/09: The books for JTOs competitive exam are available in the Pune. We are negotiating on the cost so that it can be made available to the willing executives. Details will be uploaded on this site very soon.

16/03/09: Dharna & Strike Deferred: In view of the letter given by BSNL Management where in CMD BSNL has stated that the process of absorption of ITS Grp A officers would be completed by December 2009, the Joint forum of BSNL Executives and Non Executives Associations & Unions unanimously decided to defer the Organisational programmes of action on 17th and 25th March 2009. >>>>>>>>>>

16/03/09: Full day Dharna programme on 17th March 09: It is appealed to all the comrades to get prepared for tomorrow to be held at O/o PGMT, New Admin Bldg, Satara Road from 10.00am to 5.30 pm, under the banner of Joint Forum. All the members are appealed to participate in full for the issue of ITS officer’s absorption.

09/03/09: The DS writes to the PGM about the association stand on local transfer issues and requests for formation of justification committee (Click for letter>>>) 

06/03/2008: The DS along with the president met with Shri.Chandraprakash,CGMT, MH circle, on his visit to Pune for the inauguration of the new service centre at Yerwada. He insisted for the growth of the new landlines and urged upon to give more free connections. The association insisted upon the damaged cable network and more requirement of manpower for the restoration of the same. We bought to the notice of CGMT about the cable damages done by PMC in Pune and requested to take up the matter at the highest level in the state government. He was keen on developmental work and asked for focused approach for the growth in this month of march and requested all the associations not to carry any agitation prog in this month.
