RESTRUCTURING OF PUNE SSA: The complete restructuring of Pune SSA has been carried out and new designations have been defined, as per the guidelines of BCG. Simply changing the designations have not served the purpose, but only the big show of the things has been made. We still have strong contradictions on this issue?? Who is really going to make the hard decisions to be taken on the development and growth??? Or hide on the blanket of 3 C’s i.e CVC, CAG and CBI ??? The senior leadership still not able to take decisions ?? Who will question them??? This kind of approach cannot take us to the profits.

WHO IS DOING WHAT?? ARE U AWARE…..: The recent changes introduced by BCG and the restructuring process carried out by Pune SSA, the portfolios of the executives have changed in respect of key duties. With this attempt we would like that all executives should note the changes. The executives posted in various projects like Project Uddan, Project Vijay, Project Kuber and Enterprises Business has been assigned various jobs.
Project Uddan: Teams has been formed to cater the new demand of land line and broadband in local areas. The SMS received from 1500 call centre about the new demands , these teams will get the forms filled form the customers by visiting their premises and book the connections and will also follow up the cases till provisioning.
Project Vijay: Franchisee managers and retailer manager coordinator have been appointed to cater the demands of the franchisee. The teams have been formulated area wise and look after all the new demands of mobile SIM’s. Any executive received the demand for mobile SIM should contact Com. S. P. Sonawane for the immediate availability and service provision to the customers at their required address. The team has been performing very efficiently since its inception under the dynamic leadership of Shri. Ashish Pathak. Similarly, SMS on any problems in mobile coverage can also be sent to this team.
Enterprises Business: This team has been formed to cater the needs of the corporate customers. It has two sections namely Platinum and gold. The platinum team looks after the corporate customers which are listed on stock exchange having turnover above 500 crore’s. The executives handling these customers are called as National Accounts Manager. There are about 20 such listed companies stationed in Pune.
The gold team looks after the corporate customers which are listed on stock exchange having turnover above 100 - 500 crore’s. The executives handling these customers are called as Key Accounts Manager. There are about 61 such listed companies having their head offices in Pune. The GM (enterprises business) is heading the team along with one DGM for each team. These teams will look after all the requirements of these listed corporate customers only.
Marketing team: The local marketing team also called as business development who will look after all the silver and retail needs of the customers in Pune SSA.
All the executives may contact these team for the demands received by them so that the customers can be serviced properly.

SMS SERVER TRAINING: RTTC, Pune has organized one day training on the new SMS server to be introduced for the landline, at conference hall, New Admin Bldg, Satara Road, yesterday. Shri. L.S.Ropia, GM, Ahemadnagar, who is the pioneer of the system, has trained the executives who attended the training form all the SSA’s of Maharashtra. The system is linux based and do not require additional infrastructure cost except the cost of PC. This system will deliver the SMS to all the landline customers on their predefined mobile number (any operator mobile no.) about their bill date, amount pending and due dates of their LL nos. Also the SMS for confirmation of the bill paid by the customer and information for DNP and RNP will be sent to the customer. The only Herculean task the SSA has to perform is to collect the mobile numbers of the customers and feed them to the CSMS/ Dotsoft. Most of the SSA’s represented for the training. The idea is very good and cost effective; it is receiving mass scale response. It will help BSNL in reducing the customer complaints about the non receipt of bills since the information will be timely delivered to the customers. Shri. STS ADHOC DPC NEWS: The case related to promotion of Adhoc STS officers at Hon. J&K High Court is listed for 20th November, 2009 as serial no. 4. Earlier Hon. Court stayed further promotions. On our request, Director (HRD) has spoken to CGM/J&K to initiate immediate action for early listing of the case. Further GS also spoken to Sri. N. N. Gupta, CGM, J&K Circle on 10.09.2009 and requested him to use his good office for the early listing and disposal of the case.

An activity like quiz competition and easy competition was organized during the week. Shri. DISINVESTMENT PROPOSAL IN PSU’s CLEARED BY CABINET : Union cabinet today has given approval for 10% disinvestment in all profit making PSUs at the same time decision has also been made for listing of all profit making PSUs in stock market. One more step taken towards bringing of 10% IPO of BSNL. Home Minister Shri P Chidambaram told reporters after the meeting of Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs "All profitable listed CPSEs should need the mandatory listing of 10 per cent public ownership," The government has also decided that all unlisted CPSEs, which have made profit in the past 3 years and have a positive net worth should get listed on stock exchanges, he said, adding that CPSEs would enter the market at "appropriate" time. As per SEBI regulation, listed companies are required to divest a minimum of 10 per cent of the equity to the public. The minister further said the proceeds of the disinvestment would straight away go to meeting the capital expenditure of the government's social sector program, without being routed through National Investment Fund (NIF).
BSNL unions/Associations are continuously demanding that if at all IPO comes then money so collected should be exclusively used for the development & growth of BSNL only.
A REPORT OF 3RD DISTRICT CONFERENCE: The 3rd District conference of SNEA (I), Pune was held on 2nd November 09 at the MCCIA Hall, Pune from 10 am onwards. Soon after the flag hoisting by Com. Com. S. P. Sonawane, District President SNEA (I) Pune, the open session took place. Shri. V. K. Mahendra, Hon. PGMT, Pune, was the chief guest of the open session. After formation of dice the dignitaries were felicited. Com. D.R. Bhogade, recipient of Sanchar Seva Padak, was specially felicited by the hands of Hon. PGMT, Pune. After the welcome address by the District President, Com. S. P. Sonawane, the District Secretary, Com. Vivek Wankhede presented the keynote address. The open session was addressed by Com. S. V. Bhad, Circle President SNEA(I) MH circle, Com. M. S. Adsul, Circle Secretary SNEA(I) MH Circle, Com. A. R. Manani, CWC member, Com. C. M. Saste, Organizing Secretary (West) AIBSNLEA, Com. Ulhas Jawalkar, District Secretary NUBSNL Pune, and Shri. H. V. Sowani, OSD to PGM. The Hon. PGMT, Pune, in his address said there is a need in change of attitude towards work by all the officials from top to bottom. If the officials shed the passiveness and increase the output by 15% we can turn the tables, he said.

K. D. Naidu and Com. Vyawhare as the election officers. Com. Vivek Wankhede was unanimously elected as District Secretary for the second tenure. Com. A. D. Mhaske as President and Com. S. P. Sonawane as CEC member were elected unopposed. In an election through secret ballot for the post Com. R. L. Honrao was elected as new District Treasurer and Com. R. Y. Thorat and Com. A. H.
