31/08/10:HATS OFF TO EB TEAM OF PUNE: The EB team in its best efforts had bagged the deal to provide 1 lakh SIM to the Agriculture Department in entire Maharashtra in the scheme called “MAHA KRISHI SANCHAR- CUG PLAN”. Under this scheme, all the agriculture officers in entire Maharashtra will be provided with this plan. Also the farmers of entire Maharashtra can avail this scheme. Our SNEA member, Com. A. K. Awasthi, JTO, who has grabbed this deal with commissioner agriculture, deserves full credit. Since launch of this plan Pune SSA alone has sold 4500 SIM’s. Osmanabad SSA has sold 3500SIM’s and Latur SSA has sold 1000 SIM’s. According to the latest figures total over 10K SIM’s have been already sold in this scheme and the team is confident to sell 1 Lakh SIM’s by end of this financial year. Looking to the popularity if this scheme, the sales will grow multifold, to attend the target of 3 Lakh SIM’s in the year 2011.

We appeal to all our members form entire Maharashtra to make best effort to sell this plan, which would lead BSNL to generate the revenue of 12 to 36 crore's annually. 26/08/10:BSNL STANDS FOURTH IN MOBILE MARKET SHARE: The data released for month of July, 2010, shows BSNL on fourth position having 14.54% market share whereas the Airtel topping the list with 29.74% market share. 24/08/10:EPF DATA OF PUNE SSA: Acting fast to response to the circle office, SNEA Pune, persuaded the case of sending the EPF data to the circle office. Accordingly, data on CD was prepared by the SSA and sent to circle by speed post, yesterday. The splendid efforts of Shri. Ghule, Accounts officer (incharge), and his entire team are appreciated. Now, the responsibility lies with the circle office to expedite the cases with the EPF office at Mumbai. We expect that the issues related to the accuracy of data are resolved.

22/08/10:SAD NEWS:: BSNL family deeply mourns the sudden demise of Shri. Ashutosh Awasthi, JTO WTR, posted in Lonavala, Pune, expired yesterday, due to massive heart attack. He was just 26 yrs old and was undergoing 2^nd phase JTO training at Jabalpur. SNEA Pune, extends the heartfelt condolences and pray almighty to give strength and courage to bereaved family members in this hour of crisis.

21/08/10:DECLINE IN REVENUE OF BSNL: The CMD has issued a letter to all CGM’s raising serious concern on decline of revenue of BSNL in last quarter. He has also suggested the steps and measures to be taken to increase the revenue. All the members are appealed to go through the suggestions and make all the best efforts to increase the revenue. RESERVATIONS IN PROMOTIONS ON OWN MERIT FOR SC/ST CANDIDATES: The department of personnel and training has issued a circular clarifying the treatment of SC/ST candidates promoted on their own merit. It is clarified that SC/ST candidates appointed by promotion on their own merit and seniority and not owing to reservation or relaxation of qualifications will be adjusted against unreserved points of reservation roster, irrespective of the fact whether the promotion is made by selection method or non-selection method. 18/08/10:URGENT EPF DATA ENTRY : The GM(TR), circle office has issued reminder letter to all GM and IFA’s of MH circle to immediately get filled the form 5,9 and 2 in order to update the EPF details.  All those who are covered under EPF scheme should take a note of this very seriously and update their details as per the instruction in the letter, as this is directly affecting the operations of the EPF scheme. DS MEETS PGM AND GM ADMIN: The DS met the PGMT and GM admin on the posting of SDE’s joined Pune from tenure stations and requested to post them according the existing policy. This was agreed and the posting orders of SDE’s were accordingly issued, entire to the satisfaction of the members and the Association. Association thanks them for the considerations. Also we discussed on the request transfers cases pending for a long time. Also issues pertaining to the growth and development were also discussed with the PGMT.

ROTATIONAL TRANSFER OF LADIES JTO’S : The Pune admin has issued the rotational transfers of ladies from urban to rural and vice a versa. We strongly protest this transfer order which has been issued in very haphazard manner for the reasons-

1. The stay particulars are wrongly being considered for the ladies who being transferred from urban to rural.

2. The ladies who are coming from rural to urban are made to suffer in a manner such that their stations in urban are more than 30 kms for their residences.

3. All the stations which decided to abolish for JTO posting are being again considered for.

We have requested many times to the admin to fully study the justified strength of JTO required in rural and post them accordingly. But every time it is not being done. We are raising objections only to stream line the process and see that the ladies executives are posted in such a manner with minimum hardships. Hence we have asked to abolish some post of ladies executives in rural, which are absolutely not justified. We would put forth with the admin all these issues to reconsider these points immediately and revise the postings.

They can be collected from the O/o Accounts Officer (TA), 1^st floor, “B” wing, New Admin Bldg, Satara Road, on the working day between 2.30 pm to 5.15 pm. 08/08/10:VERIFICATION OF MARKS IN CASE OF DEPARTMENTAL EXAMS: The corporate office has issued revised instructions in respect of verification of marks, amount of fee and time limit in case of departmental exams. Now the candidates will have to pay Rs.300/- instead of Rs.100/- for verification/ retotalling of marks for each paper and the time limit for such application is reduced three months from existing six months time. 05/08/10:ACUTE SHORTAGE OF 3G CARDS: After the launch of 3G services in Pune, in the month of June, the demand for 3G data cards increased in the market. Even the efforts of focused marketing were made and the marketing teams asked to pull their socks to generate the demand for 3G data cards. Now, the demands are on anvil, there is acute shortage of 3G data cards in Pune SSA. To encash the 3G market with the early bird entrant with literally no competition in the market of 3G segment, we stand once again on the back foot with sheer mismanagement to supply the cards in time. In fact, this always happens every time with this company, even the members may recall, that there is acute shortage of materials and stores whenever there is demand for any product. Recently we can very well quote the example of EVDO’s, broadband modems, cables, optical fiber cable and equipments. Also we are facing the shortage of PRI cards in exchange, for which there is good demand in the market and the management always showing its helplessness. Is it the mismanagement or the calculated shortage to help the competitior’s?  We have decided to raise this issue with the circle and corporate office. Members may send their suggestion and requirements to the DS to take up this issue appropriately.

04/08/10:RELIEVING OF ADHOC STS: The circle office has issued instruction to immediately relieve all the adhoc DET’s under transfer within Maharashtra. We strongly feel that on appointment of 49 adhoc DET from Karnataka, in recent STS orders, all the transfers of existing DET’s within Maharashtra should be accommodated/ adjusted in their own SSA or as per the requests.
