MASSIVE LUNCH HOUR DEMONSTRATIONS HELD IN PUNE: As per the CHQ call for holding of Lunch/Closing hour demonstrations, SNEA comrades of Pune massively held lunch hour demonstration in front of PGMT office, Pune. Beside DS, Com. S.P. Sonawane, CWC member, Com. A. H. Waghmare, Vice President SNEA, Com. Nitin Kulkarni addressed the gathering. Also our newly recruited dashing and dynamic JTO’s Com. Tiwari, JTO WTR and Com. Ruchir Jain, JTO WTR also addressed the gathering.

Organise, mobilise and unite to defeat the sinister motives of DOT & BSNL Management to demote the entire JTO, SDE equivalent cadres. From 1979 onwards we are struggling for the upliftment of JTO cadre. IIM Bangalore in early 80's, National Productivity Council during IVth and Vth Pay commission period and SM Aggarwal and Sarin Committees made extensive work study and recognized that JTO cadre is the backbone of DOT (now BSNL) and recommended upgradation of this cadre in terms of pay scales and status. Union Cabinet in 1987 revised pay scales from Rs.1400-40-2300 to Rs.1640-60-2900. In 1996 on Vth CPC recommendation pay scales again revised from Rs.5500-175-9000 to Rs.6500-200-10500 along with elevation from Group C cadre to Group B Gazetted cadre. In 2002, after lot of struggle we achieved E1A and E2A scales instead of offered E1 and E2 scales. Can anyone forget the last 30 years of struggle for our cadre? Can anyone imagine the demotion of the cadre after 30 years of struggle? can we imagine the demotion of 35,000 JTOs, SDEs etc ? We have to answer these simple questions in the coming days. Assn (erstwhile JETA / JTOA(I) / TEOA(I) and now SNEA(I)) started this struggle for the cadre since 1979 and will continue till we achieve the goal.
LUNCH HOUR DEMONSTRATIONS ON 24 FEB 11 : As per the notice given by SNEA Central head quarters, the district branch of SNEA, Pune, will observe the demonstration programme on 24th Feb. 11, in settlement of our demands. The lunch hour demonstrations will be held in front of O/o PGMT, Pune on 24th Feb. 11 from 1.30 to 2.00 pm. JTO TO SDE OFFTG ORDERS ISSUED BY PGMT, PUNE: The officiating orders for JTO to SDE are issued by PGMT, Pune. It is seen that four SDE’s are transferred to rural, which is absolutely incorrect and association strongly opposes it. This has left no chance for these offtg SDE’s to refuse rural postings, as most of them has already completed rural tenure in the cadre of JTO, whereas most of the SDE’s who are working in SSA for more than 20 years has not gone once to rural in their entire career. Moreover, since in SDE offtg promotions no financial benefit for the employee, but transferring them in rural is reducing the pay, hence the association has demanded to follow the transfer policy as decided by the corporate office. PAY SCALE OF JTO / SDE CADRES: GS write to CMD/BSNL on the strategic importance of JTO cadre -- Pride of the Company – JTO cadre –
don’t break the back of BSNL by breaking its backbone -- consequences of arbitrary and retrograde decision to demote the cadre shall be grave and suicidal --- work study done by National Productivity Council (NPC) and IVth & Vth CPCs recommended higher scales and higher status for JTO cadre in 1987 and 1996 -- Demands as an interim measure, JTOs recruited in the pre-revised pay scale of 9850-14600 be fixed in the same scale and action on war footing by BSNL management to place JTO/SDE in standard pay scales of E2 and E3 be initiated. <<letter>

BSNL CONSTITUTED A COMMITTEE TO EXAMINE VRS: In pursuance of Telecom Commission's decision that BSNL could examine option of VRS for select categories, BSNL constituted a Committee on 01.02.2011 with ED (Fin) as Chairman. Other members of the Committee are Sr. GM (Estt), GM(Rest) and another Fin officer nominated by ED(F). Decision of Telecom Commission -- Item 6.2 (iii): "VRS across the board may not be required.
